Three reasons groomers switch

1

Unlimited texts, no add-on

Two-way texting on DaySmart starts at Deluxe Growth, $149 — or it’s a paid add-on on Basic and Deluxe, with texts capped at 500, 1,000, or 2,500. Teddy includes unlimited texts and Ask Teddy on every plan, including Budget at $49. Route sorting is on Core and Plus. The phone AI receptionist is on Plus.

2

It's far easier to use

No hunting through menus. Tell Teddy what you want in plain words — by typing or just talking — and it does it. Reminders and texts to clients go out on their own.

If you can send a text, you can run it
3

You can reach the founders

We're a small team in Texas and we answer support ourselves. You get a real person who knows the software, not a ticket that sits for three days.

Based on DaySmart Pet’s public website, August 2026. Teddy route sorting is Core + Plus. DaySmart help: map + manual reorder, not auto-optimize.

Who each is for

Pick DaySmart Pet (formerly 123Pet) if you need daycare or boarding calendars ($25/mo each — grooming sits next to a facility suite), payroll and commission rules, a multi-service shop, or you are already on the leftover Windows 123Pet desktop. They have fans for the price, a free website, Stripe, and notes plus history. Pick Teddy if you’re salon or mobile and you text clients all day — unlimited texts and Ask Teddy start at $49. Route sorting is Core + Plus; DaySmart’s map is manual, not auto-optimize.

Questions we get a lot

Will I lose my client history?

No. We bring over your clients, their pets, and your appointment history, so your first day in Teddy looks like the shop you already run. Send us your DaySmart file — they also claim free transfer — and we load it in.

Is it hard to learn?

Most groomers are comfortable in an afternoon. You can tap through screens like you’re used to, or just tell Teddy what you need — whichever feels easier that day.

What does it cost compared to DaySmart Pet?

DaySmart two-way texting starts at Deluxe Growth, $149 — or it’s a paid add-on on Basic and Deluxe. Texts are capped at 500, 1,000, or 2,500. Teddy has unlimited texts on every plan from $49. Skipping their payments is +$10 on most plans; Deluxe is +$20 ($69 → $89). Extra users are $9 a month. Daycare and boarding calendars are $25 each. DaySmart Pet is the rebrand of 123Pet. Their Basic plan is $29. The difference is two-way and uncapped texts, not the sticker price.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Teddy is month to month, no setup fee, cancel any time. DaySmart is a month-to-month subscription: cancel before the next bill; the current cycle is not refunded. They also have a 14-day trial with no credit card (Deluxe-level).

What if I need help?

You email or call and one of us picks it up — Alex and Drake in Texas, seven days a week. You reach the founders, not a ticket queue. Some long-tenure DaySmart shops have said support now starts behind AI, and that SMS or the schedule have gone down. We are not claiming Teddy has better support — just that you can reach us. alex@tryteddy.com.

Does it work for mobile grooming?

Yes. Teddy auto-sorts stops on Core and Plus (Budget at $49 does not). DaySmart’s help FAQ says the app does not automatically optimize routes — you get a map and reorder stops by hand.
