Every grooming software claims to "save you hours." We wanted to know: do they actually deliver?
We recruited 12 groomers across different business types—solo operators, small salons, and mobile groomers—and tracked exactly how much time they spent on scheduling and admin tasks before and after implementing new software.
Here's what we found.
Each groomer tracked time spent on:
We measured for two weeks with their existing system (or no system), then two weeks with new software.
Before software, our testers averaged:
That's a full workday every week spent on tasks that don't directly generate revenue.
We tested seven platforms with at least one groomer each:
Teddy — Admin After: 2.8 hrs, Saved: 6.6 hrs (70% reduction)
MoeGo — Admin After: 3.4 hrs, Saved: 6.0 hrs (64% reduction)
Gingr — Admin After: 3.9 hrs, Saved: 5.5 hrs (59% reduction)
DaySmart — Admin After: 4.2 hrs, Saved: 5.2 hrs (55% reduction)
Pawfinity — Admin After: 4.5 hrs, Saved: 4.9 hrs (52% reduction)
GroomPro POS — Admin After: 4.8 hrs, Saved: 4.6 hrs (49% reduction)
Calendly + GCal — Admin After: 5.9 hrs, Saved: 3.5 hrs (37% reduction)
The groomer testing Teddy saved the most time primarily due to two factors: integrated unlimited texting and online booking that actually works.
Winner: Teddy — The unlimited texting and streamlined interface made the biggest difference for one-person operations.
Winner: Teddy or MoeGo — Both handle multi-groomer scheduling well.
Worth considering: MoeGo or Gingr — More robust staff management features.
The right scheduling software pays for itself many times over. At an average savings of 5-6 hours weekly, even a moderately priced platform gives you back $200-400/week worth of grooming time.
